“More than 30,000 PCs per day are being recruited into secret networks that spread spam and viruses” - Symantec

That’s just one of the conclusions raised by Symantec in their biannual Internet Threat Report, which attempts to trace trends in internet security.

This is an increase from 2,000 machines a day from 6 months ago. However, the figures do include the high infection rates caused by the MyDoom vs Beagle worm war, that occured earlier in the year.

Either way, net security has become am issue that businesses absolutely ignore at their own dire risk.
