Microsoft launches startup accelerator programme
Microsoft has launched its Startup Accelerator Programme in the UK. The programme has been running in the US since August.

The programme aims to help fledgling UK companies with high potential, by providing technical support and guidance on Microsoft technologies.

Platforms in the programme include Microsoft’s Silverlight, Microsoft’s multimedia browser plug-in, and Microsoft’s Live service, a group of Web-based applications.

Companies applying for the programme will be assessed by Microsoft to see if they are suitable. Those which are accepted onto the programme will receive access to tools and services to help accelerate their businesses commercially.

They will be given marketing and sales support, and business-development sessions hosted by Microsoft.

Companies already accepted onto the programme include Ether Digital, Miomni, Zebtab, Corebridge and ViaPost.
